I have met numerous wonderful people while bellydancing in New England and have made a lot of friends along the way. Here are a few of them:
Zahira~Zuhra is my partner in crime for the New Hampshire Northeast Belly Dance Association (NH NBDA). And a great friend.
Hyetti is a great friend and my current mentor. Hyetti has a vast knowledge of Middle Eastern dance and has trained with the top Hula instructors in Hawaii; and is bringing this art form to New Hampshire.
Layla was my zil master. She was dilligent in teaching me to "own" my zils.
Aslahan, along with being a great friend introduced me to the Turkish style of bellydance. Yip!
Memie runs the Boston North Shore Chapter of the NBDA. She has a wicked sense of humor and when you get the two of us together, watch out!
Phoenix is a wonderful person with a lot of spunk and energy. She teaches Tribal, Gypsy and ITS.
Za-Beth runs "Za~Beth's Magic Carpet" and puts on numerous large fabulous shows and workshops every year.
Amity is a lovely Egyptian style dancer located in Enfield, NH and is the founder of the "Raq On".
The
Athenian Corner has become our "haunt" so to speak. The staff there is wonderful and so is the food.
And the guys from the Fred Elias Band... they are the best! If you have not seen them play, I urge you to do so.
